Federal Legalization of Hemp in 2018

With the recent passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, it included a important piece of legislation called the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018.

This act federally legalized the production and marketing of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.), and derivatives of cannabis with less than .3% of THC. Hemp was officially removed from the Controlled Substance Act, which means it is no longer an illegal substance under federal law.
